The Girl

Joanna Noëlle Levesque or better known as Jojo was born on December 20th 1990. She is an American pop/R&B singer and actress. She was born in Brattleboro, Vermont and raised in Keene, New Hampshire and Foxborough, Massachusetts. Her mother and father were music lovers, her father sings as a hobby and her mother sang at a Catholic church choir and was also trained in music theatre. When she was three years old, her parents divorced.

Jojo had appeared on a few talk shows and competition shows, including, America's Most Talented Kids. Soon after, Balckground Records, a recording company auditioned her for a recording contract. She released a live demo album in 2001 which featured several covers of famous songs.

Her rise to fame came in 2004, when she released her first single, Leave (Get Out) it was a massive hit and was the number one single in America. This made her the youngest solo artist at 13 to have a number one single. Her first album, Jojo soon followed and went platinum. She released two other singles, Baby It's You and Not That Kinda Girl. She has also released another album in 2006, The High Road and rose to number three on the Billboard 200. She released two official singles from this album, Too Little Too Late and How to Touch a Girl. Her third album All I Want is Everything is due to some out late 2008.

Jojo has been acting since she was 4. She has appeared in television series The Bernie Mac Show and American Dreams. Her first major movie was Aquamarine alongside Emma Roberts and Sara Paxton in March 2006. She acted the role of Hailey. Her second major film role was in April 2006 starring Robin Williams, the comedy RV.
